The transport scheme covers pupils attending a school in Østfold and who have a home address in the county.
Transport for primary and lower secondary pupils
You have the right to free transport if your home is more than two kilometres (year 1) or four kilometres (years 2-10) from the school.
Exceptions could be made in the case of a dangerous route to school and/or special needs.
- Transport to/from primary and lower secondary schools is organised by Østfold county council’s public transport agency (Østfold kollektivtraffik) in collaboration with the local authorities.
- You can request an exception to the distance rule if special needs exist. Contact the school if you want to apply for an exception.
Transport for upper secondary pupils
Customised school transport
Customised transport is provided for a period or on a permanent basis when the pupil has a disability or is suffering from a temporary injury or illness which requires transport to get to/from school.
An application for customised school transport must be accompanied by a doctor’s certificate/disability declaration. This must be sent to the school, which applies on behalf of the pupil.
